The C400F uses a mechanical pedal. The C400A replaces that linkage with a pneumatic cylinder. Same foot-pedal action — step down, the pusher feeds the hose into the blade; release, it retracts — but the air cylinder drives a smoother, less fatiguing stroke, especially when you’re cutting all day.
Both machines share the same frame, the same 2-inch 4-spiral capacity, and the same 00/22 cutting wheel. If you have compressed air at the bench, the C400A saves your leg. If you don’t, the C400F does the job without needing an air hose.
The C400A versus C520A comes down to the same question as the C400F. The C520A runs heavier with a more rigid frame for high-output shops. The C400A delivers full-size cutting capacity in a footprint that fits shops cutting 30–50 hoses a day rather than 200. At that volume, pneumatic feed is fast enough without being overkill.
Build quality is the same as the rest of the C-series wide-body cutters: steel frame, industrial motor, replaceable blade. Optional X35 fume extractor for rubber smoke and YL2000 extension stand for long hose lengths.
