A guillotine hose cutter does one thing well: straight, clean cuts with minimal effort. The C400F uses a mechanical foot pedal to feed the hose into the blade — step down, the pusher advances; release, it retracts. No air hose, no compressor, no electrical feed mechanism. Just the pedal under your foot.
That mechanical drive is the C400F’s main difference from the C400A. Same frame, same 2-inch 4-spiral capacity, same 00/22 blade. The F-version uses a lever-and-linkage foot pedal. The A-version swaps that for a pneumatic cylinder. If your shop doesn’t have compressed air plumbed to the bench, the C400F works out of the box — plug in the motor, step on the pedal, start cutting.
Both the C400F and C520A cover the widest cutting range in the TRC cutter lineup. The C520A runs heavier with a more rigid frame for continuous production. The C400F is the practical mid-point: wide capacity in a more manageable footprint. For shops that cut a few dozen hoses a day rather than hundreds, that’s the right size.
Construction is straightforward — steel frame, industrial motor, replaceable cutting wheel. Optional X35 fume extractor for the rubber smoke, and YL2000 extension stand for long lengths.
